clutch hyd and bleeding- check my work

Not sure if you've already tried, but bleed at the master as well if you've got the access. I'm guessing the master outlet is the highest point in the system so air will be trapped.
Had the same on a motorcycle hydraulic clutch system which was the same. Finish off with a bleed of the master and all was well.

master does have a bleeder ive tried it first n last and alsorts

okay..new slave , new master , tried gravity bleed and some came out at the master , nothing at the slave , pumped the pedal a few times and again nothing at the slave

the reverse bled a couple of large syringe fulls backwards from the slave - no pedal

pressure bled it , pumped the pedal , pressure bled again and ive got some pedal

much like this chap it returns if you stomp it fast , gets stuck if you work it slow

i think i will have the mrs help with manual bleeding next

if its bolted on in the same place expect the same results .... theres a saying about this ,,,

I didnt want to say it. This does seem very odd so i wonder if its heading that way... I have never heard of so much trouble with a hydraulic system. People moan about the TD5 disco on the D2 forum but I just bled mine and it works. I cant believe steveo is having this much trouble with bleeding..!

back brakes on 109s could be a pita somedays ,,, wouldnt be the first time ive hung the back end off a tractor and clamped the cyls in to get them to bleed ... clutch on an 814 merc can be a pain too.

its as good as the vid i posted above ....not terrible but not right , he claims he fixed his with more bleeding so i can believe that

it must only move a tiny amount of fluid , im guessing the slave moves what 5-10mm so one pea size bubble would cripple it

clamped rubber hose hard, pedal is almost rock hard , that confirms master is ok and bled yes?

removed slave and tipped it so nipple is at the top , clamped the rod in the in position undone the clamp on the rubber hose and the pedal is soft , bled it several more times , swapped on previous slave and same

whats this telling me ? dud joint after the rubber hose or dud slaves?

might try it with the braided hose , but i has same symtoms on last set of components

With the slave pistons still clamped down ? If so, this makes no sense.

If you were nearer, I would come and have a look, and bring some petrol and matches just in case.

does the clutch work ,,, granted may take a pump or two ,
just if its kinda working a bit , it points to the rod and clutch arm etc all working .

if thats the case it still has to be air in the curly pipe / slave cyl , as its the only part after the hose.

with the slave rod clamped in the in position ....yes doesnt make sense , no obivious fluid leaks on the slave

does the clutch work...no not really , cant select reverse without a crunch , i cant see how i can expect it to work if they hyd arent working right
