What kit is this? Is it a rear engined MEV or a Riot?

It's an SDR vstorm. Company went bust a few years back, but sold the rights onto DJC sportscars.
It's 'nearly' done (but I've been saying that for a couple of years). I'm determined to finish it over the next couple of months and get it on the road for next summer!

I have heard of them but even though I have my kit car still, I've not kept up with the kit scene for a few years now. Good luck with finishing it and good luck with the IVA

That was my first go at the chocolate curls,

This has raised a question. If I melted bars of chocolate into a tube to make a round bar, and froze it solid. How well would choc turn and chip on lathe! Would it curl off, or be like a melty nylon mess?

Yes there are better ways to make curls, but I may have to try it.

I reckon it would work well, with the correct cutting tool profile A carbide chipbreaker insert tool might not be the best

A wood lathe and a nice wide gouge and Oh my deity, this must be the definition of too much spare time..

Got the 5mm aluminium sheet this afternoon and onto the plasma with it.

Then out with the mig and welded it into

a bait box.

And a liferaft holder.

and the it will sit as it will be fitted over the back of the cat catcher.

I love it. Not sure how well it would work, I think it curls best slightly soft, fully cooled I think it would break apart before it curls. I might try it, lots of top rake, slow speed high feed would be your best bet I think, feeding straight in like a form tool.

Wired up a foot switch for lathe, in series with the run enable. This could be unsafe, if I stop and forget to turn the run swich off and the step on it! I could use the E trip switch, which cant restart, however I think it'd be useful, it will free up a hand and concentration from reaching at the wall.

I dread to think what I'd have to spend on CDs to listen to as much as I do on Spotify.

Ive just seen my Spotify "Wrapped" so I can actually sort of answer this now. Apparently this year I discovered 773 new artists, assuming that's one album each, and I think I used to pay about seven or eight quid for a CD, that's six grand!

My land rovers alternator was bodged on by the chap that fitted the tdi its been sitting slightly wonky for about 6 years it had a far to narrow piece of mild bar spacing it out so it has a tendency to bend over time then the belt squeels

So today i had enough and finally sorted it, measured the offset from the engine mount for the new spacer. We then find the mount had been filed wonky
The plan was to mill the engine mount parallel to the base but i haven't yet made the m16 to 3/8 16 draw bar adapter for the collet this had to he done first,cut the thread on the harrison first lathe ive run with a dro what a treat glad to have learnt with dials and dti's but it's a treat to turn a part and it is exactly what the screen says it is.


Then milled the base, the beaver mill im pleased i kept it in storage for so long waiting, its a lovely machine to run



Then to swear as its a pig to fit, but we have a straight alternator

I did note the mount holes are wallowed at some point I'll rebore and bush them.

Finally managed to use my husky/jonsered
Cut some firewood .
Biggest log diameter roughly 8" or 20 cm .
It does work very well .
Just two issues .
When cold it doesn't rev up quickly ,I have to half pull the throttle twixe to clean the engine and then it can go from idle to maximum rpm in a fraction of second but it does work.
I have to sharpen the chain because I've hit the ground .
The second issue is that I have to refresh a thread because the ground wire from the switch will come loose while using and instead of shut down the engine it will run at very low rpm in off position (a stroke or two every second)
Other than that I'm pretty happy with it .
Remember that I've saved this chainsaw from a trash bin so I can't really complain about this problems .

Sounds like you need to richen it up on the slow jet just enough to make it pick up

I've readjusted the carb little bit and it was running better but I have to try again once cold
