It should have a power resistor connected in series to the ground to limit the current going to the nozzle preventing to destroy consumables and limiting the cutting capab
So you might need a bigger relay
It should work but you need to limit to 5A or better 10A the current going to the nozzle.I wonder if you could use one of these set to say 5a to trigger a relay which breaks the nozzle ground once it detects 5a on the work ground.

So relay would be normally closed, when there is no connection between the nozzle and workpiece the current flows between the nozzle and ground. As soon as you start to cut the workpiece and get a connection which reaches 5a the sensor triggers the relay to open which breaks the nozzle to ground and instead forces it to go nozzle to workpiece.
Opened mine up to check everything, nothing major that could be an issue
