I suppose in hindsight if the scrapman could arrange a collection within an hour it might have been worth giving it another day to try and arrange some transport.
Hate to see a good machine go for melting, I can't imagine they are that common either.

A friend with influence has spoken to and got me three more weeks. I think it was more a case of the insolvency and wind up had to be completed today

Those who have visited my grotto know that I’m no exaggerating the unpleasantness
To accommodate the grinder I was going to rent a second unit. These units are only a foot wider than the grinder and I would need to pay for new floor etc and be terribly compromised.
The ex rebuilder site is five times bigger than the two units combined. Clean toilets office kitchen qa room etc and the rails in for gantry cranes . The rent would only be £150 more a month being in Lincolnshire opposed to Essex
Spoke to one of the directors today, he was gutted the nearly new 6t crane only sold for a grand!
If I’d have known I’d have bid on the super rare and very useful moving column grinder

Even though the rent is just inside small business bracket from this year the government have raised its rates value significantly so the business rates will be un sustainable .

Unfortunately the rates valuation changes in April, gov values it much more than market value so it looses small business relief so rates are the same price as the rent
Even the no longer present bridge cranes were rated and the cctv as there’s more than four cameras

I intend to save it and my money I paid for it
It’s not a possession thing , it needs to survive on account of rarity and it’s usefulness in keeping other stuff going
