ThanksI've just found this thread, and WOW, What a monster removals effort this has been! Well done Clive, this is mega impressive. I've been involved in a few machine moves but nothing anywhere near this scale. Can't wait to see it up and running.
Nearly 50? I'd have put you at 60 at least...Thanks
It certainly tested my resolve!
You really need to be a real company with staff to help and a good overdraft to mess with stuff like this.
I still have some buyers regret as commissioning etc is a major cost and more commitment to another building and another expensive problem if landlord dies and his family sell estate for housing.
I think I was so intent on replacing the way grinder we lost for the last twenty plus years that I forgot about time , I’m nearly fifty and shot
You look like you’ve been dead for ten years…Nearly 50? I'd have put you at 60 at least...
Yes I agree, however I googled “lathe bed grinding” and all your competitors came up, but not yours. Obviously no rush till your ready, but apart from reputation and referrals google search's are the best way to find work. Essential in this day and age.
You free site will he hosted behind go daddy. So the true web address will be something like https:\godaddy.com\slidebedgrindinguk.co.uk or what ever. So potentially harder to find. You also need to back into your free site and add in lots of search terms to help google in the SEO. Buying your own domain is better and easier to find, but there is the cost of the domain, plus hosting fees.
Im no expert just learnt for my own little enterprise!
ThanksRe SEO & websites, I had a look for your website & it was way down the list, But a look at 123.reg domain names reveals some very similar names at pennies prices for first year.
When i was restarting my boatbuilding buisness i had a website built by a mate, he understood the seo thing & as soon as that site went live within a week it was right at the top of searches & stayed there. Unfortunately my knowledge level couldnt keep up with how he had set it up & i was hopelessly lost within no time. Its worth getting the right guy to do it or a small child, their brains work differently to ours.
You tube may be worth doing but to do it well is a lot of time taken up. Maybe a live webcam linked to the site might work?
As far as Linkedin goes i was on there but it was a complete waste of time.
Have visited the Kalmar factory in the past supplying them with hydraulics, they make some big FLT's, about 50 tons max.
