Don't think I have ever seen anyone fill up a motorbike while still sat on it.

i have . my bike didnt have a center stand so had to sit on it while the bird on the pump filled it up 5 gallons. a bloke in a jag pulled in and put a gallon in his 4ltr car i shouted over it may get you to the end of the high street mate

I think the moral of the story is: if you see someone doing something you consider dangerous, let them know.

Really??? and who gives the rightful power of advice over another Dont you think we all have become sick to the back teeth of being advised,watched,monitored and much much more that has eroded our right to just get on with our lives Some of the antics you have done in the past in the pursuit of making a living on this very forum comes into question and i found you to be very touchy over criticism and crazy as it may sound defended your right to "just get on with it". world has become full of part time police and general advice officers and people including myself are getting suffocated by it all.

I did have a chopped lambretta that I welded an exhaust clamp to the bike tank so I could mount it on the scaffold tube welded from the steering stem to the frame.First time out the vibration was so much it cracked the weld dripping petrol all over the place as I drove home.My solution was to weld a 1/8 inch plate to the tank then weld the exhaust clamp back on.

Few years ago I investigated an accident where a man fell off a modified podium step and broke his back. I had to take a victim impact statement which was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done. It’s all about how the accident has impacted on his life.

he told me that as a result of his injuries he’s no longer able to have ladies and gentleman with his wife. It’s one of the most distressing things I’ve had to do

Unlikely (though Jos Verstsppen may disagree) but there is always the possibility with a fuel spill. Especially if there are the glowing embers of carbon deposits.

I’d be more worried about spilling petrol on myself. Not good for the skin, not a good place to find out.

job i was on the chimney guy fell of the roof 20 odd foot high . he managed to fall between a load of acrows and a load of rubble on the concrete path fortunately for him just badly bruised and nothing brokeapparently its the 3d time he has done it how lucky he is . he hast learned . he might this time

I fully appreciate that some folk may not see the world through my eyes. But.......

Personally i see what you see every day of the week to a point regarding roofing risks and have done for 43 years in my trade without incident (touch wood) , i also have a duty of care towards my lads which i take very seriously and rightly so but in this ever decreasing world of fight or flight even you Parm must enjoy switching off and just being you. Standing by the bonfire and using it as a source of light to read the firework instructions or cutting that last bit of metal with a disc the size of a penny or getting that little bit closer to catch the big wave lapping over the wall, its all what makes us human and puts a big smile on our face. Indecently the pic of the lad on the roof in post 1 cutting back a gable with a cordless grinder looks perfectly normal to me and he looks like he has it under control within the boundary of the task in hand, i don't know if people have noticed that the roof just below has a full scaffold.
