Hi There!
First post!
I've started getting the gear together to start learning to weld.
So far i have bought a very nice looking Uptime Mig welder https://www.uptimewelding.co.uk/upt...-160-amp-igbt-with-torch-and-accessories.html
A mask and gloves.
I've read the setting up gas section on here and found it very helpful. I am going to get some Flux core wire to start with too, but i would also like to get some gas as i hear it can make things a little better/easier.
If I buy one of the disposable gas bottles do i need a convertor to connect it to a regulator like the one in the tutorial? https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/wiki/Setting_up_the_gas
Also how do i get it from the regulator to the welder? Is it just a push on plastic pipe?
My last newby question for now is. Should the tip size (eg 0.8mm) be the same as wire size and roller size?
So if i use 0.8mm wire the roller and tip should be 0.8mm? Sounds obvious but i thought i better ask!?
Thanks in advance.
Paula
