I am in shock.
I was just woken up, by a knocking on my door.

I threw some clothes on, to find an official person who handed me a letter.

The company I worked for has gone bust.

No warning or anything.

I am now waiting for the arrival of a second official person , so I can empty my van.

That's grim news, I know the feeling, I was once told at midday I was finished at 3pm as the company was in financial difficulties, I really hope you get what you're owed, I lost thousands in owed pay and expenses.

With your knowledge could you set up as a fire safety consultant?

I've been there, half way through doing a timing belt and the foreman walks out with some guy with a clipboard and called us all around and told us we were gone bust. We weren't even allowed finish the jobs we were in the middle of doing. I felt really bad for the customers who's cars were just abandoned on the lifts.

All company e mails and phones are being diverted.
Boss, who lives in same town, company car is/was immobilised.

2 office staff, 4 engineers are retained to finish up outstanding work.
Then the company will be merged.

It will be going onto a new chassis for one of the other Landies next year.

It will be moving to a different location in the garden as a storage shed of Landy bits for the winter.

Five handy Whitworth spanners, three boxes of nitrile gloves, a copy of 'Cams, Design, Dynamics,and Accuracy', by Harold A. Rothbart , and a Gold Star breather peg replacement job.
The cam design book was bought for a fiver, so that was a bit of a rescue item, really.
Fascinating nonetheless......

Even got some photos of a Black and Decker FE rocker re-radiusing setup to copy back on to my machine.....

Today I acquired a door-shaped hole in my house. Our house steps down, so out of the side of my office is the roof space of the single story bit. Handily, floor levels will run through nicely and it's a reasonably high loft.

The house is made of fluffy blocks so they can be quite easily cut with a handsaw rather than having to resort to a stihl saw
I'll take the outer skin out tomorrow then start getting some joinery work underway joisting the floor and beefing up the rafters.

Not today, but traded in the Suzuki Liana on this nice SX4. picked it up friday.
The Liana was getting a bit worse for wear. Too much needed doing for the MOT.
It's got the same M16 engine as the Liana. Nice engines and virtually bulletproof.

And it's 4x4. I'm going back to my LandRover days. Next thing will be a 4" lift and big mud tyres.

Days of expenses
My car needs new CV joints, not willing to get dirty or at least not extremely dirty...
I've bought a pair of complete ridex axles on autodoc for 180 euro

So it'll be just a matter of taking them out,
Replace the oil seals on the gearbox, change oil and putting the new ones in.
Otherwise I should have done all that plus rebuilding the ones installed wich is cheaper but really not the most pleasant job to do as you have to cut the joint to take out the balls release the retaining ring put the new one, grease new boot and oetikers and again on the other side cut the tripoids and repeat.
It would be already enough hard to remove the axle from the wheel hub and because of that I'm kinda thinking about getting a 15 tons hydraulic puller on Amazon.

Went to buy gloves at my local tecnomat (like the Home Depot to get the idea)
I was initially thinking about getting an 1/2" 36mm socket to remove the hub nut with my DTW700 clone because the 3/4" impact is still knock out.
But I've seen adapters nearby and got those instead because it may be not 36mm but 34 or 38 and having them in 3/4" already, I've preferred to get those adapters
Yato 3/4" to 1/2", 1/2" to 3/4", 3/8" to 1/2" I should have bought the 1/2" to 3/8" but once arrived to the cashier we discovered it lost its label so I left it there.

No history behind those I just eat them.

Coolant for my little Punto, at least till I get the axles sorted and I'll take the chance to finally replace the radiator which leaks.
And silicone oil for my GBB airsoft Beretta.

moving on AliExpress I've got those boots Wich had good reviews and they were not ridiculous cheap nor expensive.

And a spring loaded M67 Granade replica since the airsoft field rules don't allows pyrotechnics so no tag in nades.
I've had an empty pouch on my belt so don't judge me

That Ridex stuff has a reputation of poor quality.
I would suggest rebuilding your existing shafts using quality components. Its a messy job but at least you know it is done well.

I don't really have the time.
I'm waiting for ferragosto holidays to get it done and if they last another 2 years I'm happy with that
I was thinking about SKF but they would cost me at least 400 euro
