Got a vevor/whatever brand) one in a more useful range https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/375268848970 - no its not the trick Wera stuff but it's ok and measures ok against the measure. for lower torque, I think wera would be pretty spendy for a mini digi to put their name against.

I'd say there's very little chance of cutting it off and then welding it back on straight/in-line sufficiently well to not knock out the bushes/seals in very short order.

By the time you've messed about, bought bits, wasted time, damaged knuckles, you may well find it would have easier, and cheaper in time, to either simply replace or take them somewhere that does this all the time.

I meant cut the base of the cylinder off so I can access the nut then pull the rod out, nowhere near the important seals so doesn't have to be micrometre accurate welded back on.

If it was a expensive machine or job critical then yes but I don't see the point buying new cylinders/paying someone the same as new cylinders to work on these if I can do it myself just slower and doesn't cost me time as if I wasn't working on it I'd be doing nothing more than watching films/doomscrolling etc so happy to save friend who owns it the money and keeps me from getting bored plus entertains you lot as I slowly get the "bigger hammers" solutions out
