Received a spare parting blade as ordered one before I went with the grinder in the toolpost method, annoyingly the bevels that hold it in the holder are not ground despite the listing image showing it

Oh well time to 3d print a jig to hold it and fire up the bench grinder.

I've not see tool holders with an angled clamp plate before . Mine have a slight locating groove on both clamping edges so the blade is fully vertical against the tool tip holder edges., As a consequence I leave my shaped parting blade in the holder and slide it back & forth on the grinders tool rest plat form it's easy to angle and keep at the same angle plus it won't melt if /when the blade gets hot & it keeps your fingers well away from the grinding wheel .
I tend to also sharpen all my tool steel & TCT tipped cutters whilst they're still in the holders too for the same reasons New parting blades get ground so they look like the shape of a slice of peach ..pointy at the cutting tip and a lot of clearance.
Then it's sjust a case of a kiss on the green stone with the holder resting on the angled tool rest to sharpen if needed and a light rub with an Arkness ( SP?) stone to kill any burs

Yea I plan to put the blade in the holder and just print basically a chuck of the toolpost at an angle so the bevels are vertical and move it along the tool rest like grinding a knife blade.

Shoot them an email before you start modding it. I've always found RDG to be helpful in resolving issues. Looks like they've just sent the wrong one (not all the staff in the shop are as switched on as others)

Your new blade doesn't appear to be tapered. Please check.
The face of the blade holder should be at a slight angle so the bottom of the blade has clearance both sides at the bottom.

Not today, but traded in the Suzuki Liana on this nice SX4. picked it up friday.
The Liana was getting a bit worse for wear. Too much needed doing for the MOT.
It's got the same M16 engine as the Liana. Nice engines and virtually bulletproof.

A D1-6 collet chuck with some collets.

No idea what make or brand the chuck is.

The collets are crawford.

It looks like the collar gets spun on by hand and can then be further tightened with a tommy bar or specialised pin spanner

Your new blade doesn't appear to be tapered. Please check.

There's a slight taper on it just not as good as the original, I'll order from a different seller in the future as rdg is cheaper per inch but not worth the hassle grinding it in. As for the holder I'll have a closer look but you might be right it appears to only taper on one side like the holder should sit at more of an angle

So RDG can't supply the correct spare blades to fit the holder they sell!

Today (well, yesterday actually) I acquired a working hot water 3 phase pressure washer (Nilfisk Neptune 4) which had it's heater missing.
I already had a Neptune 4 with a good heater and single phase pump, but the rest was missing/damaged.
So I merged the 2 together to get a working heated 3 phase pressure washer.
Had some trouble getting the burner to fire, after finding out the anti scaling float was actually undone from it's mounting and not measuring at all I bypassed that and adjusted the ignitor electrodes (they were about 10 mm above the fuel injector,instead of 5 mm below it) and it fired right up.
There was more then enough soot coming out of the burner to christen the next 100 popes (but they use white smoke, this smoke was black as tar) so after consulting the service manual I opened up the air flap, and the burner cleared itself.
Quite funny how you can hear the burner getting better or worse with to much/little air.

Still need to measure the CO content, but the equipment needed for that is at work, and I have a 3 week holiday)
I cleaned the garden/patio walkways a few weeks ago with a consumer Nilfisk (140 ish bar) and today I had a go at it with the 180 bar Neptune, and it shifted a lot more dirt,even without using hot water.
I am in it about 300 quid, and some hours of work. If I can flog on the 230v washer as spares/repair (though it actually works perfectly as a cold water unit) I will be in it even less.

That's poor! Please make sure to leave them negative feedback stating the issue. Most people buying tools from RDG are not in a position to modify tooling to suit and they'll only know what they're getting if you share your experience.

Personally, I'd claim a refund from paypal too. It's only £6.50, but from the images in the listing, it's tantamount to a Temu scam.

Very poor. I'd say go and order from. Arc Euro for better customer service but they've packed in doing the tools coz Ketan wants to retire.

They say that the holder/blade combo is not their own and come as a pair thus you only get that blade with that holder so they just sell these other blades and the picture is terrible but does look like a there's a slight bevel but it's probably the camera angle. You'd think they'd stock the blades for the holders they sell otherwise you'll just have to start collecting holders for each new blade!

One Makita MP001 air inflator. Seems very good, decent weight to it and decent flow of air out. I shall test it on car tyres soon.

Makita sell these in a stupidly oversized box with no internal packaging, rattling around, the plastic insert does not even fit the tool.

I'll try to find a hard cloth type case for storing it in the car.
