I used to have hundreds of lead soldiers, got a bit older and melted them down for fishing weights

When I was a kid I had an aunt who painted lead soldiers for the company that made them, she often had hundreds all lined up as if they were on parade.

Yes.

This site I am walked round with site secuity. I asked if I could have it.
They said yes and I filled out the paper work.

They think going by the rubbish is was swept up in a bundle from a shop refitt. The skip was there a week after the shop was opened.

So it is now warming up at home.

Predominantly still in boxes in the car.

I have to sift through them first, then do my duty here ...

But one item stands out immediately .... what that?

My old cheapie B&Q mapp torch died so I took a deep breath and bought a Rothenberger.

It feels much nicer than the old plastic bodied one and the one hand locking feature is nice.
I do feel like I need a safe to keep it in though.

A few items from Zoro; @doubleboost posted that the drill bits were reduced and @ukracer posted a discount code. There's another one of the 9" pipe wrenchs which I'll give to my brother and I thought the JJ type grips would be a useful addition to the vise-grip drawer.

A few years ago I got two very rusty carver clamps, wire wheeled them and painted them orange again, when I sold them a guy was all over them asking if they were original etc… I said I had no idea, they had no paint on them when I got them, he accused me of mis-representing them as they had the incorrect shade of orange on them. Guy collected them apparently. It really does take all sorts

Not yet acquired but I've had an amazon voucher for months, 7 quid off when spend 20 and use their pickup location for delivery. Has to be an item sold by amazon & couldnt find any I need. ( If you havent used the pickup service yet, voucher ends in december)

You can get needle bearing inserts for those, plastic cage but metal rollers.

This has been a good week for getting stuff.
Much good stuff for me.

German WW2 40mm road. I am guessing by the size it is a Bofa 40/60 case.

These 2 box's were gifted to me, by a friend who has left the company.

A good selection of 20mm glands.

Assorted goodies.

Yes I know it is Silverline. But for the times I need one this is good enough. I have had one in the past and for £2 it will do me.


These 2 meters are very good, robust and almost unbreakable.
Does the same as my Fluke and will handle being droped as well.

Older style Battery tester. This is in my mind the best model they made.
Small well built and very tough. Never seen a broken one.

This brand new, again my one the display failed. Not the first time and it was replaced under warrenty. Collected it this week and still not used it.

This again was gifted to me, as mine died and the boss had no choice to replace my tools with a company item. Then wrote mine off agaist the stock record.
