As I said it was a good week for getting stuff.

Think I have a problem.

When time permits il pull the other two out of storage and should be able to build 2 working consoles up.

One on the left has issues (think caps). One on the right is battered but powers up. No output from master but think it's just the master fader.

Odd bits.

The above items were set aside by a nice lady in a shop I look after.
They all be used, bar one item.

This box was going to be scrasped, as the shop staff thought it was not able to be repaired.. The top left damage, the seized hinges and catches.

It is complete, even down to the small micro weights.

Some decent branded belts for the mini linisher I bought, also got some medium grade surface conditioning belts, think I should have gone fine they feel a bit harsh, will test and get fine if needed.



Parkside vac, reasonably powerful for battery, be good for the mini lathe and mill etc.

Next project on my bench , no real value in this condition, i will keep it for myself for repair jobs on clothes, rucksacks, panniers, tarps ect.

Mysterious foot switch that contains two bores in the porcelain part with what I'm guessing are ferrite disks on a spring contact ?

I works so Im just going to clean It up and reassemble it, would be nice to know how it works though, anyone got a clue ?

They're carbon disks - pressure applied to the stack via the pedal reduces the resistance

Today i acquired a lorry load of old Burma Teak floorboards probably victorian. I had to pay a bit for it but it was nothing compared to what its worth to me as boatbuilding timber. Covered in bitumen one side & filthy dirty it took a whole morning to unload it & stack it in my shed.
Must be well over two tons & half of it is in 16ft lengths. I am very satisfyingly knackered.

Well as the only teak now imported has to be plantation grown fsc certified etc etc the price of good stuff is rocketing. Anything over 2-3m carries a long length premium on top, You sure couldnt afford to burn it. Fortunately the boat its sitting next to requires a new deck & fitting out & that will eat some of it.
Some of the rest will pay for custom cast shiny bronze bits for her, whats left is my pension!

I had a load of teak bench tops from a derelict and collapsing laboratory which had been sat under a pile of gunge in the rain for decades, I planed it and fitted out a boat with luxury looking polished hardwood , the stuff is indestructible.
