I wonder how many of todays “ technicians “ know how to use one?If you get your blink rate at the correct frequencies, the light stays on![]()

Just don't forget that the possibility of still learning every day in the job still exists! Not today but yesterday had my graduation. I am no longer in the further education system. Now a fully qualified civil engineer

My thoughts exactly.I wonder how many of todays “ technicians “ need to know how to use one?
Not needed on anything even remotely modern that I own (ie within last 30 yrs) - not even got external timing marks on some of them. While typing, I wonder if the wasted spark of on most of them would cause some interesting issues anyway?
I used mine about 4 weeks ago. On a Astra Mk1 1300.My thoughts exactly.
Only thing I've ever used a timing light on is the old grey fergie.
Yes, I've got one (well, two) - last used on a Lotus Elan S3 a mate was putting back together.I used mine about 4 weeks ago. On a Astra Mk1 1300.
I even had to set the points, set the dwel and time it.
Most of my motors are at least 30 years old so its useful yo have a strobe light and not tested the Sun branded CO machine i got yet but that will come in handyI wonder how many of todays “ technicians “ know how to use one?
No matter if its a fly, mosi, wasp or whatever, I always end of worse by twatting" myself or smashing my hand trying to get the little bastartds or worse breaking something in the processA wasp sting to the back of my head, then one on my hand when i swatted it off
I did decline the parkside Genny. In bits.Really![]()
i mainly tinker with Japanese stuff from the 1990s....use my timing light quite a bit and especially after doing belt changes etc.Not needed on anything even remotely modern that I own (ie within last 30 yrs) -
A Scheppach plunge saw. It worked when I pulled the trigger the first couple of times but not again. The fuse is good so it either the cable or a microswitch I reckon.
A length of mooring rope, I just need to save up for a bigger boat. It's about 75-100mm diameter.
A roller shutter cover for a pick up, I don't know which vehicle, it might get used vertically on an outside storage box.
For the first one it wasn't a microswitch but it was nearly a cable. A wire in the stator has broken, possible because of a manufacturing fault. Anyone know a good place to buy spares for Scheppach machines, internet searches just throw whole machines for sale.
