Well described, I remember seeing them laying around on dis used track bed after watching the local railway been dismantled in the Beaching cuts, I would have been five of six at the time.Not sure of its proper name, but basically it’s a “key” made of spring steel, like so:

most of the shops are closing down . I had top go to the bank in a Thursday afternoon and roughly counted 120 people up top end of high street
