Today I acquired...........

saturday i aquired 2 computer base boards memory and cpu for a total of 75.00

am2 mainboard with 60 cpu with 4 gig of memory
am3 mainboard with cpu uknown for the moment with 8 gig of memory
another 3tb hard drive and a 250gb of s3 ssd hard drive

ive also aquired ml7 new/unused cutting tools

Don't even bother trying the myford tooling, they are rubbish! I have tried them on my ML7 & no matter what I do I get a poor finish. I am now using Chinese carbide tipped tooling & getting perfect finishes every time!

Best thing would be to sell them on ebay for a mad price & you will be able to buy all the carbide tipped tooling you will need from bangood & still have loads of money left over!

Indexible is a no brainier mate. Won't want to send them back.
I went for a glanze set from Cronus and they've been impeccable.

These were in a snap on box I got. They are Weld craft from good ole Uncle Sam land I know they are for tig welding but that's about it.

An oldie but a goodie. M&W 50-75mm micrometer.
There's such a rash of reasonably decent (from what I hear) cheap ones from China and elsewhere, that the used prices of the ones I'd consider to be definitely decent are depressed a lot.
Suits me. It allows me to build up a small collection of decently accurate measuring kit for norralorra dosh.
What on earth happens to all the lost standard length calibration pieces? Do people use them as hobnails or something?

I acquired a bundle of tools to repair after abuse.

I wonder if the members would abuse their own tools as they abused the clubs.



Jig Saw. 1 screw holding the blade has the thread striped.
Leather working tool, screwdriver and bradle has the tips broken or bent.
Hand drill. The whole handle and bolt has "Gone Missing". Know one knows how.
The adjustable. See below.

But I did get some good bits.

I was in a second hand tool shop looking for a 3/8 whit plug tap. They gave me 2 choices. "Old New stock" for £4. Or a bundle of used second hand taps and dies for £4:50.



Guess what?
I went for the bundle. No. there is not one 3/8 whit tap.
There is 2.

Got my hands on some materials to make a small plasma table. I'm not sure how well it will work for hand held cutting. I want to cut down the smoke and fine black metal dust from cutting in a garage but not overly keen on getting splashed with water

I have a grinder but no idea how to sharpen tools up but ive been looking at other things to sharpen as well

spotted a home made tool and cutter grinder on the bay so thought why not

the question is what is it worth, to others nothing as they are used to it

i was looking at 40 - 80 for the slide then i need extra bits to make up the other parts
added to this the time to make it up

its an mt2 with for what i can see is the dials by spoked circles at bottom of pics for mill ends 3-6 flutes

I bid on this and forgot. A few days ago I found nobody else had bid and it was mine. It’s a M&W 2-12” Inside Micrometer and it’s all there. The box foam has seriously deteriorated so I’ll have to come up with a fix there but not bad I thought. Came with the outer cardboard box too.

Close enough.
Band saw.

Some one replaced the blade, but did not adjust the blocks and blade runners.
The blade snapped and "whipped" across back of little finger.

Not beginning.
That's why I have started the idea of making sure member are signed off on the tools and only certain members are allowed to use certain tools or carry out maintenance.

This has and wil members getting the "hump" as they think they know better.l
