I asked the same question when we had ours done, he said it's a standard length/roll with one end made off ready to connect to the pole then once it's run they trim the surplus off.

That would make sense, I guess the guys that run the cable don't have the ability to make the pole end off, what a waste though

Well, these arrived today, excellent service, 5 days from the US:




They are Alumina Ceramic tubes, 3" long about 4mm dia and .5mm hole all the way through, @sako243 is now in trouble as I am not sure whether or not he thought I was being serious with this project. The clue is they are full fired so not porous and they will suffer 2000 degrees C and loads of pressure. All I have to do now is find out how to cut them, anyone have any suggestions? for what they are they were not bloody cheap, worked out about fifteen quid each.

Notch them with a diamond file and snap them if you're feeling brave. Cut through completely with a wet diamond saw (tile saw) if not

Was expecting £150 with that info lol, what's it for then, my guess is probably something along the lines of a way to feed a steady flow of gas/liquid into something molten/being hit with oxy acetylene?

Had to get a new endmill to put slots in some flux capacitors, I think my Elliott 181 horizontal might struggle for spindle speed though!




A slitting saw would be better but I need the corner rad, and I can break a lot of these before breaking even on a custom ground saw.

I solemnly swear that this here is the last mask I Am buying in 2025 , optrel Panoramaxx clt
I do have an eclipse 2.0 that is the clearest mask i've had to date and supposedly has a 2.0 light state so it will be interesting running them next to each other.

I was just about to reply to this thread questioning why anybody needs more than one mask, then I realised, I have 4!

It comes with its metal carrying case, 7 brand new skill woodcutting blades, plus other ones I really can't understand what are for since it's coming from France.
States it's in good working conditions but it requires a new power cord.
30 euro for it, so worth the gamble

Seriously a good welding mask make night turn to day.
I've tried even much more expensive helmets but my nice and simple Esab warrior works the best for me.
Despite it's not the greatest or newest helmet I find it perfect.
I mig weld with it up to 350A no problems and tig weld aluminum even a the lower current settings.
A shame they discontinued it
