Will the standoff work on outside corners, too? If so it ought to have rubber pieces on the vee as well.
Today I acquired .. two sets of Duggar gun sockets as 10, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21 & 24 mm extra deep 1/2 " square drive sockets , One Duggar gun with a big battery & its charger a keyless 1/2 inch chuck and a special x point cum screw driver bit for the special drive matching chuck that came with it .
£9 per set of impact sockets and £ 38 for the impact driver drill which also had a 10. 12 13 &14 mm set of ED impact sockets with it in the price . Lidl price for similar size was IIRC £68 a few weeks ago, If the impact sockets are any good I'll be quid's in as a good set isn't cheap in the UK
A month or so ago I realised that Trump would be slapping tariffs on here & there. reasoned that China would bust a gut to get their best gear out into the world before being hit with tariffs from many countries as the world goes Trump stupid.
So I placed orders for all sorts of things including a super dooper electric powered wheelchair for my lass now she has bee incapacitated with MS at a high level ,it can be joystick or smart phone controlled , it folds to 17 inches high either via the joystick or the phone app and can be driven onto the loading platform by remote control or the joystick . It has the latest biggest lithium ion battery available for it too which should give a range of 38 miles or a 100 kg person ,
UK price was over £3.8 K for this top of the range model with the smallest battery available for it, the largest capacity battery for it was not available ! .........delivery 12 weeks or so ???????
Hmm they are importing to order and slapping almost £2k on top of it .
I had a look at several such places selling powered wheelchairs ,, most were trying to sell what seemed to be 4 yr old models with lead acid batteries , ones that I suspect they still had from pre covid days & hadn't had any customers for them . Amazon & eBay were similar too .
Moral of the story, just plug in the angle grinder next timeThe impact gun is good . on slow & low impact speed I managed to take apart 24 x 13mm well rusted nuts & bolts on a pair of old 20 foot long racking uprights with cross bracing struts . They have been left outside to rust for years .
Then I hit a snag ..... seven of these pairs of up rights wouldn't undo , I got my calipers out & measured them , Arrragh a precise 9/16 AF ....14 mm hexagonal inpact socket does not fit.
So off to the land of the singers , crisp eaters & beer swillers The usual suspect places local Wholesale Electricals , a local nuts & bolts factors , a local motor factors , Tool Station , B&Q & ScrewFix were " A no comprehende Mista ".
Did a long diversion into Swansea found Swansea fasteners thinking they might also do un-fasteners ... Yipee pristine precision 1/2" bi hex 9/16" Georde socket but no Impact ED's in imperial .
Plus they actually had a decent ROJ off set 9/16 , 8 inch long spanner in a sand blasted frosty finish so less prone to slipping if greasy and or wet .
Off to home I did caper, with tools in pocket , and receipt of paper .
Just about to get on the motorway and drive 23 miles home .. only see 22 miles in the can , Emergency pit stop at a MacDonald's in Swansea 150 yards ahead for a Big Mac & a drink and part charge , charging 60 more miles in the car while I ate it .
Got home and took a full set of up right /ends apart in a matter of minutes , then like a tit , I slipped on a nut hiding on the concrete as I stepped to my left side to start clearing things up and went apex over basement giving myself a few concrete rashes for free.
They bolt heads are recessed, only a socket can reach them , getting an angle grinder to the underside of a lot of transom's would be impossible ,Moral of the story, just plug in the angle grinder next time![]()

Thinsulate hat:
Tried one out last night. I'm impressed. Thin, (lot thinner than my old ones), snug fit, & keeps the head nice & toasty.
That'll fix yer.

My Duggar Gun and off set long thin spanner was good , 24 rusty nuts & bolts in less than half an hour is most certainly the way for me to go . It took me over an hour using a T bar , socket or ratchet & spanner
Looks like a standard Luer fitting on the end.You know one that size isn't a syringe don't you?![]()
It is.Looks like a standard Luer fitting on the end.
I have some similar glass ones. I quickly learned that solvent will wash away the lubrication, and without it, they will bind up solid, infact one I cant seem to re assemble even with oil.Today I thought I'd do some drugs...View attachment 483576
Actually, I wanted one glass syringe and a fine needle to apply some solvent to a cracked perspex turntable cover.
This lot cost £15, which should last me for the rest of my life.
