Picked this up while shopping in Lidl this morning:




Already have a Milwaukee 1/2" breaker and I'm not into duplicating tools for the sake of it but this will be handy to keep in the van. Not least because I'm past the age where I want to lean on a long tube on the weirdly numerous occasions I happen upon motorists who've had a puncture but don't have a wheel brace... It's nowhere near the quality of the Milwaukee but it feels solid enough, and it will mean one less thing to remember to put in the van when I'm on a big trip, and at £60 complete with battery, charger, a selection of sockets, and a 3 year warranty, it's worth a punt.

I picked up a load of lithium storage batteries yesterday that had been subbed out to us.

When I got the paperwork I blagged a shiny new pair of Portwest work gloves from the splendidly attractive young lady in the transport office who asked me how big my hands are. OH dear, thought I, you obviously haven't heard the old saying .

I picked up a load of lithium storage batteries yesterday that had been subbed out to us.

When I got the paperwork I blagged a shiny new pair of Portwest work gloves from the splendidly attractive young lady in the transport office who asked me how big my hands are. OH dear, thought I, you obviously haven't heard the old saying .

Perhaps she had and it was a come on, straight over your head!

On yesterday I've cleaned up my M4A1 and kinda revived the project.
It's already a long time I'm thinking about getting back into airsoft to alleviate some stress and do little bit of sport.
So I've took a look to the parts I've collected to repair the rifle and make it usable with some degree of reliability

First of all I've got a new motor grip plate because mine uses a tiny Allen screw that obviously is made out of cheese.
It's needed to adjust the backlash in between the pinion and crown gear.
I've choosen an original ICS part

Then another OEM component.
It's an anti reversal catch.
It engages on the crown gear like a ratchet and it's needed to avoid accidental discharges, have a better trigger response if you you set the trigger disconnector lever correctly.
But on AR pattern ICS replica it can be used to relocate the piston into the fully released position to extend the main spring life and or to avoid accidental discharges while disassembling.
Because ICS M4, M16 and M416 but also MP5 use a two parts gearbox .
On the AR family you have to push the forward assist to release the antireversal allowing the piston to move forward actually potentially shooting a BB if the spring is compressed enough

A real night vision goggle.
I already have a civilian digital NVG so this it's more of a project.
They claim battery well issues so it's not working but if I manage to fix it would be great for airsoft because it has no delay and what you see it's real

Today I acquired .. two sets of Duggar gun sockets as 10, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21 & 24 mm extra deep 1/2 " square drive sockets , One Duggar gun with a big battery & its charger a keyless 1/2 inch chuck and a special x point cum screw driver bit for the special drive matching chuck that came with it .
£9 per set of impact sockets and £ 38 for the impact driver drill which also had a 10. 12 13 &14 mm set of ED impact sockets with it in the price . Lidl price for similar size was IIRC £68 a few weeks ago, If the impact sockets are any good I'll be quid's in as a good set isn't cheap in the UK

A month or so ago I realised that Trump would be slapping tariffs on here & there. reasoned that China would bust a gut to get their best gear out into the world before being hit with tariffs from many countries as the world goes Trump stupid.
So I placed orders for all sorts of things including a super dooper electric powered wheelchair for my lass now she has bee incapacitated with MS at a high level ,it can be joystick or smart phone controlled , it folds to 17 inches high either via the joystick or the phone app and can be driven onto the loading platform by remote control or the joystick . It has the latest biggest lithium ion battery available for it too which should give a range of 38 miles or a 100 kg person ,

UK price was over £3.8 K for this top of the range model with the smallest battery available for it, the largest capacity battery for it was not available ! .........delivery 12 weeks or so ???????

Hmm they are importing to order and slapping almost £2k on top of it .

I had a look at several such places selling powered wheelchairs ,, most were trying to sell what seemed to be 4 yr old models with lead acid batteries , ones that I suspect they still had from pre covid days & hadn't had any customers for them . Amazon & eBay were similar too .

Poxy leylandii's , 8 yrs ago the next door neighbour eventually paid to have hers 21 cut down after I told her they were too near our bungalows and also liable to be way above the legal height as garden dividers . The branches from her side which was four feet below my boundary were encroaching over 14 feet into my garden & were topping 30 feet high in places ,some of the trunk were 17 inches or more in diameter .

Even now after 8 years of being cut none of the stumps have rotted away despite being heavily treated with a stump rotting agent when first felled and having Xs cut inthe top to hold the stump rot chemicals .

Back in my plantation clearing youth, the best treatment was reckoned to be cutting a hole in the exposed stump and filling it with saltpetre. Leave it a month then set fire to eat and it will burn everything out, right through the root system.

If it was a thinly disguised chat up line, I can only imagine she was desperate for male company.

Considering I'm now 60 and knackered and something in the region of 35+ years her senior, there must be plenty of much more eligible males around than me. Failing that, she was probably taken aback at being treated with politeness and courtesy by a lorry driver as by and large they're not universally acclaimed for their social skills.

You can't easily get salt peter these days even if you're into home curing your own pig but you can get a ready made mix of it with salt & herbs to cure the meat with .

Having size 11 large , hands has given me some interesting conversations with some ladies .

Another vintage gadget followed me home today. I'm not 100% certain, but I think it could be a wave-actuated bilge pump that pumps out a little water every time a boat rocks, making the weighted pendulum swing back and forth to operate the little diaphragm pump.

If I get ambitious I might give it a quick cleaning and install some new rubber parts. Anyone able to provide more details?

A friend who was 62 yrs old & foreman for a tarmac road repair team was shocked & amused to be invited by two very delicious 19 yr " Ladies " for an evenings enjoyment .

All Eammon could say to me was " I bloody daren't , I talk in my sleep , my missus would do a Bobbitt on me an 'then slit my effin throat ".

Eammon was a magic guy , I 'm sure he had a very large female fan club as the guy was a natural bird magnet .
