Rotary threaded centre arrived, fits the mini 4 jaw quite nicely.

I told her they were too near our bungalows and also liable to be way above the legal height as garden dividers . The branches from her side which was four feet below my boundary were encroaching over 14 feet into my garden & were topping 30 feet high in places ,some of the trunk were 17 inches or more in diameter .

There is no legal maximum for trees. They may have been her trees but what grows into your side is your responsibility to trim or have trimmed back to boundry.

If you want the stumps out, the best option is to use another tree or stump as an anchor and winch them, that will get roots and all, ready for replanting something else.

Front grip broke during shipping because the seller was an animal and didn't even understand how this thing is supposed to fit into the case (exactly how shown in the picture)

If it went through 8mm thick steel I believe this thing delivers at least 30 joules.
Granite wouldn't be a problem for it.

Even now after 8 years of being cut none of the stumps have rotted away despite being heavily treated with a stump rotting agent when first felled and having Xs cut inthe top to hold the stump rot chemicals .

The stumps are between 2 & 4 fee lower than my property , a sloping to hers bed rock is about 5 feet down so she gets a lot of hill run off over the bed rock through her garden,
Her garden is a large bed of grass & sphagnum moss , th gardeners who tend it for her always wear wellies when they do it as it's that wet . Some days you can see their foot prints filing with water a few minutes after they have made them ,

So I got it, Makita Planer 1805B, 155 mm (6 1/8") planer face.

I'd like to clean up the soles, not that it's particularly bad. But I prefer to put my own scores and marks on machinery than live with someone else's.
Would that be best done with fine wet and dry, 2 to 3,000 grit? I don't want to change the soles, I do have a solid marble flat face to mount the paper on.

That's a 3 to 4" belt sander sitting on top, to give a perspective of how elegant and delicate this planer is!

We had one of these taken out just before Christmas as it was mature, well-established and stood around 25-30ft tall but it berried every year and having got a puppy last August Mrs Browser looked them up and both the tree and berries contain cyanide, and our pup seemed to like eating the flippin' things, hence us having the tree taken down.
