Not exactly fixed, but proved once and for all that the carb on my scooter is blocked. Common sense told me that it was, but I trust it less the older that I get 
Anyway, bodged in a cheap Chinese carb that I bought new for under £15 and it starts and responds to the throttle without stalling.
The photo doesn't really show much, but the carb is barely in the inlet manifold, and is skewed to one side since the accelerator pump hits the crankcase. Also, it's shorter than the original carb, so the inlet hose was never going to fit

I'm waiting for a tow bar for my Citroen Berlingo EV ... I wonder if a fitting kit will ever be available .. I want a few trailers full of cow & pig muck to put in the gardens , Last time I did it was 17 or so years ago when I set them up as 900 mm brick built raised beds , using roughly 1/3 each of nine mixed manures , coconut fibre and vermiculite .having sold my old car last week i no longer have a tow vehicle for my 2 small trailers.
so today i rectified that...

I fixed the discolored plastic and rubbers on my 850 this weekend when we had a spell of nice weather. Used a product called Sonax Plastic Renovator, silicone free. Used it on the Saab before with good results. There's also Concept Vista which people say good things about.

wired and finishedhaving sold my old car last week i no longer have a tow vehicle for my 2 small trailers.
so today i rectified that...
not a scotch lock in sight. the power tap from the fuse box is less than ideal, but only cosmetically. i would like to wire it into the back but i dont have the terminals.

Odometer stopped working on our roadtrip to the Alps last June, finally got round to fixing it today.
The problem was that the metal cog on the right end of the spindle was spinning freely. So pushed out the spindle with a drill bit. Peened over the spindle a bit in the cog position and pushed it back in. Was tight going back through the metal cog so should be a fix.
Now ready to go back in.

got the diff out of my racecar.. 
lot of work but went ok, except the 2 sized bushes, same arm both sides, the pinch bolt arm. the bush is seized and the pinch bolt snapped so that will be fun to fix.
i also have the beginnings of a leaking gearbox output seal.

I really feel they should have taken more care in the naming of this constant tension hose clamp, or at least provided a defined time limit.
I thought it was oil spots on the drive, but turns out it was SWMBO's CR-V slowly dribbling coolant overnight from the bottom hose. Arguably better than an oil leak!

"Fixed" the Surf today as the sun was shining.
Engine oil & filter, fuel filter and a new hose fitted between the airbox and intake pipework as the old one was split when I got it and I replaced it 13 years ago with some silicone hose that made the airbox vibrate.
I used a genuine oil filter as I think the pattern one was letting oil drain back after a week of not using it (the filter sits upside down near the cylinder head) so let's the oil drain out and causing a bit of rattling on a cold start
Some crap in the fuel filter but nothing like this time last year!
Seems to run much smoother as it always does after some new oil
Took me about an hour and a half in all and that included helping to push a broken down VW T25 up a driveway.

Saying that, it does have a 2.5L Subaru Impreza engine in it...
