Steering rack gaitors are a service item every two years on my Caterham for the same reason - no idea where they are made, but wherever it is, they obviously don't consider the effects of UV . . .I last fitted Indian made fork gaiters to my Bonnie 6 years ago today, they were perished after 3 years, finally fitted a made in England set today.

They said that in extreme cases, they could be used for emergency amputations, the heat killing nerve cells instantly. Not the usual thing to find in small workshop, what let goFinally managed to get our RB-211 spinning up today. Lots of internal damage to repair, smashed Carbon Fibre bits and punctured metalwork. Starter was dead and Fuel Flow Transmitter were duff.
