windows 7 does not have all of your drivers for any laptop as you have to go get each one from there serversI give up...gone back to Windows 7 and now it's missing dll,s.

if linux was better to use and had nearly all of the windows games/programs that work within itGot new (2nd hand) Lenovo Z50-Z50. Pulled Win10 HDD out and put my Linux SSD in ....sorted. Couple of driver fixes done.
If win games are your thing then there's no other path to tread. For 3D animation and graphics I prefer Linux (well everything really). Did try dual booting years ago but found I didn't need Win for anything I did. Only problem is bios updates (on win preloaded machine), but fwupgrd from terminal should eventually solve it. I run a few diferent OS's in Vbox and Docker, such as win7-10-11, Centos, Fedora, Red hat, etc...if linux was better to use and had nearly all of the windows games/programs that work within it
linux would find alot of the windows users would jump to it
i dont see the need to have linux installed and then use a vr that has windows installed on just to run other things might as well have a windows pc if your going to do that and keep them seperate
Well I gave up checking as a bad job.from facebook or company on net ?
Never really thought about that. But I was skeptical of the windows 7 iSO so I gave up and cleaned my car instead.windows 7 does not have all of your drivers for any laptop as you have to go get each one from there servers
there is other places to get your laptops drivers just incase you cant get them from the original place
my discs have many added drivers and other things but dont have them all as that would mean building a new disc up of which you can do, they are so handy when your installing them
the issue you may have is getting those drivers but they will exist somewhereNever really thought about that. But I was skeptical of the windows 7 iSO so I gave up and cleaned my car instead.![]()
Get a copy of Linx Mint.....a doddle...so windows-like been using it15yrs or so. Comes with the usual bloatware ...Office etc.A week or so ago I was dismayed to find my big stand alone which was updated when new to a top of the range spec at the time is an original windows 7 circa 2010 up dated to Win 10 is too old to sort out .
Now I cannot update it any more as windows 11 has come along it's not fast enough, the mother board is not right etc etc MS just keps kicking back to ther is a problem with your computer update it , then when I try says updating is no longer possible.
So I'm having to get rid of it and replace it with a more modern higher speed & capacity computer , I'm hoping I can use the screen as a monitor and send the data to it from a new second hand laptop.
I did wonder if UNBUTU could be employed but feel at 72 that my brain is getting too scrambled these day to carry it out and keep it updated.
im a tombraider and need for speed fanNot been a gamer since Tombraider, but was curious to see what new games can be run on Linux and came across this...

as for games on linux you need proton and it still doesnt work for all games on the system
its steam and another game server that uses it from linux wine
why do you think it took so long for me to find ones for meWell I gave up checking as a bad job.
It was flagged to me by a user of Midlands fishing tackle on Facebook. Which I am the admin.
Sounded like he had a mate selling one.
It transpired it was a member who had got past the defences and added a large number of laptop adverts.
So I DMed the member and he replied..
I don't know what he said as Facebook pulled the replies claiming they went against their community standards.
So I decided I don't need the hassle. Seemed a bit to good to be true the price and Facebook must have had a reason so I just deleted the guy and all his adverts....
