Have a look at the one Doubleboost links to. They are awesome.
No doubt the one Hood uses is even better - but double the price. For a hobby users the Bangood or similar is more than good enough. Mine works perfectly.
But I wouldn't push it as hard as Hood pushes the Iskar!
Very nice.
Some questions for you.
Do you set the tool to be bang on centre height - or higher or lower?
What cutting fluid. Looks nicer than soluble oil.
What lathe is it?
And finally what rpm?

Most parting tools want to be on centre although I used to use some Kennametal ones that worked best at 0.1mm above.
It is Rocol V-Cut SS soluble. Semi synthetic and very economical, I dilute at 50:1.
It is a POS, otherwise known as a Colchester Triumph 2000.
RPM, I don't have a clue, I have a servo drive on the spindle so I can bypass the extremely noisy headstock. I did have a gauge made up to display rpm but it got smashed and no longer works. I would guess that was about 800rpm but that is just a guess. I just go by experience of what seems right.

I wanted to try. Im limited by having no strength in my right arm, struggling with basic tasks for 2 days. I was getting chatter as I couldnt feed fast enough.
Started with 3mm on 30mm en3. Took a minute, not worth showing. Swapped 2mm blade, much quicker, insert chipped 13 seconds in, total 23 seconds cutting time.
Then I found the whole box of new inerts are low quality chipped edges under the coating. Thats what happens with the cheapest seller on ebay (kk316).
The 3mm inserts are ok, Ill get som 2mm from the other seller.
I didnt have anything bigger that is ready to part off. Found some 16mm silver steel under the bench. I was not getting any chatter so bumped the speed right up, 1100rpm. If my arm was capable of a decent feed then the time would be half.
I will get the 4 jaw on tomorrow and try them with some hard flame cut 40mm squre bar, see if they survive. If they do Ill try the en19t.

I've found inserts from seller carbide-direct to be very good quality and value.

Use cordless drill on nut holding handwheel for power cross feed. See Dr Al's site for a more refined solution.
I am still strugging with arm and getting the feed fast enough to stop chatter, but I got it down to about 6 seconds at 1400rpm
Perhaps too fast?
I only use about 350rpm and slow feed. Works like a dream.
I use plenty of soluble oil.
This old Tony's uses a battery drill when using the topslide for tapers.

You don't have to, but if you do I think you will be happy with it, certainly the best parting tool I have ever used.

Well worth the pennies if you do much parting.

oh I do the cheap bangood one is pretty carp the tips dont fit snug and break easyYou don't have to, but if you do I think you will be happy with it, certainly the best parting tool I have ever used.

If you mean the block then yes it will unless the block is non-standard.
