Going to hang some magic baubles in the tank for a 6% improvement
The improvement, at least in the short term, is likely achievable if you try hard enough. Lighter right foot, gentler (and less) use of the brakes, being aware that ‘something is different’ (even if it’s not) and that fuel use is being monitored carefully would likely easily achieve that sort of mpg increase.
Running a generator, at constant output, would definitely be a ‘fairer’ test. Never see results from those, do we? I wonder why….
