When I started using the Broquet back in 1987 David Locke said he wouldn't bother putting it through government assessment due to the extortionate cost & licences he'd have to pay for . Why do that with something you know works .. it'd be like having salt tested & licensed as a food flavour enhancer or water as a thirst quencher .
My sisters FIL .. Don Overton was a former Spitfire engine technicial engineer working in engine development in Perkins engines after WW2 till he retires in 1969 .. it was he who pointed me to the Broquet .. said all RR aircraft engines & those made under licence were using it to cope with crap fuel .
When you think about the use of E5 & E10 bio fuels & the drop in MPG you may well find it will be making a come back .
One thing Locke did say , is that no one has managed to claim his compensation award for an engine that has suffered & died because of using Broquet
My Ford Thames was almost the same but only on the offside where it leaked from the fuel pump 'boot'. As for additives I'm afraid I only ever used R40 and the purely for the smell.I preferred the transit "auto anti-rust" system that protected the engine bay on my banananana engined van.
If only they'd extended it so it constantly sprayed the entire underside with oil.
Depends if you put the right fuel in it and actually start the car I suppose .So I have a brand new car, does 50mpg and is happy on E10. Will I get a 6% increase in mpg?
Would rather a pentaDid someone say Cummins?
I want to know what car can do 50mpg on e10So I have a brand new car, does 50mpg and is happy on E10. Will I get a 6% increase in mpg?

On a run, or just jobbing about? I'd be very tempted if i could get that economy on my 25 mile b Road commute.Brand new Golf 1.5 Tsi

Thats cool, I've been looking at either a gt tdi or a gtd to replace the xfs, purely for the 50mpg potential, but sounds like that 1.5 tsi would do everything i want and potentially be even cheaper to run. The 150 r-lines look very appealingOn a run it creeps upto 52-53, at a steady 70.
Around town it's in the high 40s, my long term average over 2000 miles is 50mpg
Going to hang some magic baubles in the tank for a 6% improvement
