Log Fires - the future?

Are the little fans that sit ontop of a log burner any good?

I reckon so yes. Bought a cheap one for the pub landlady and it pushes heat into the room. You can definitely feel the warmth if you sit in the path of the airflow. Fire needs to be well up to temperature mind, as in it can be whirling like a dervish but until the stove is hot you don't feel much.

I've never noted any real difference, but they ought make some difference, in theory.

I do have two on the stove. The one on the left is a good indicator of when the stove needs refuelling.
