With energy prices as they are, hardly surprisingly I am surrounded by households installing log fires.
But what is the future for these fires?
Where is all the wood coming from and how long before log fires are more expensive to run than conventional heating systems? I note that the cost of your average FIBC's full of logs (approx. 1m3) has risen markedly since this time lost year.
And not wishing to be cynical but how long before some local or otherwise, council group targets them as being a source of income and insists that you have to have a license to run one?
