Just waiting on bits for the bumper, then I can drive it back home,
Need to start thinking about paint, I fancy a full respray but my wallet doesn't
Probably looking at spraying the rear up to the c pillar, not sure what to expect cost wise
Not having much luck with this engine so far,
Started leaking coolant badly,
Jaguar thought it was a good idea to put 2 heater pipes in the 'v' underneath the supercharger, so a £10 hose has cost me about £40 in gaskets and a broken breather hose, not to mention 5 hours just to strip it down, every part of it is fiddly and awkward
Btw this is what you have to do to change an injector lol.
For some odd reason, the factory undercoating has failed on one side, but immaculate on the other.
Looking at the previous owners driveway, I think he had it parked half on concrete and half on grass, could be why
After knocking it all with a hammer, this is the part I will have to sort, outer sill is still all good, these XJs seem to love going at the joint from the floor to the sill.
Made a mess of the clear coat, so at some point I will have to redo it but for the time being I'm calling it done
Just waiting for the lift to be free to do the welding to the floor/sill.
Nothint major but I finally got it to stop loosing coolant!
After the almost 2 day job of changing the hoses under the supercharger it was still loosing coolant,
Found the thermostat hose had a pinhole leak which I couldn't see untill the pinhole became a bloody big hole, replaced that (I'm starting to hate spring clamps )
Still leaking coolant.
Turned out one of the normal worm hose clamps that was really tight hadn't sealed properly, could only see it leak when you moved the hose about and it was hot.
