That's my brother, and yes it's my nice new Air Arms S410 in the gun slip, I've only had it two weeks... it happens to be a pretty good 20 yard shooting gallery

This past weekend:
We finished off the last little piece of flooring, to bring the edge right to the wall. Welded a bit of angle to the framework and laid ply over the top. Finished off nicely, no complete pics though.
We moved the compressor... this was feeding my old workshop from one of the farm buildings, unfortunately had to move it entirely. It's now situated in the lean-to, out of sight but unfortunately, no longer out of hearing
At least it's not directly inside the workshop.
No pics of this, but a couple of pics of air lines routed, used 25mm MDPE pipe and Kuterlite fittings, it worked incredibly well for the last workshop so not going to change anything here. At some point there will be another tee fitted to feed the motor vehicle workshop behind this workshop.
I really need to get those cupboards finished!
Sofas and bolt collection moved/organised (Boxing day's work, actually)
And my pillar drill and belt grinder moved in... it's the Arboga MT3 gear head drill on the left, next to my brother's Pollard MT2... Two drills, two grinders, overkill is better than underkill

So with the electrics, lighting and airlines all complete, it was time to move my own benches and storage in!
We moved the pressbrake yet again...
It took a while to move stuff around to the point I was happy with it. The top photo is actually the completed one.
The jig table has good access all around it now - was always a bit tight in the old shop. It actually looks quite small now!
Meanwhile, upstairs we moved my cousin's tables and toolchest, as well as a load of racking. While i was away on holiday, the boys fabricated a wall mount for the bin racks, so all the nuts and bolts are handiest at the top of the stairs.
Still got to put an electrical outlet upstairs, these tables will be dedicated to working on small stuff, electronics etc, will be a handy space for soldering. Need to replace the chairs though, one of them sinks and the other is too short!

That's a great workshop, but it can't be complete; there's no kettle, microwave or hob!
Mezzanine outer beams fitted at the weekend
Do you design the steel work for the mezzanine yourself and get it checked by an engineer, or did you get an engineer to design it? Curious about the process.

Got our design engineer at work to design the outer loadbearing beams, and designed the rest of it myself. Some of it is common sense and experience - overspeccing beams for short spans is very easy.
It's an industrial building so building control etc doesn't apply like it would with domestic properties. So design to good engineering practice is fine. I.e. following reccomended practice for joist spacing, stair design, handrailing etc. Still got to do kicking strips, mind!

Nice work, but what type of tube bender did you use to make these bends?Started making handrail standards for the stairs last night...bodgedcut the elongated areas with plasma... thankfully will be welded up so won't see my shaky hand
It's been a long time since I've had to make handrail returns... I was amazed when the first one turned out right!
