I took some pics of the pit bikes on the weekend...

First one is a CNC milled alloy frame and swingarm... he got it secondhand in a corroded state so he got it powdercoated. Built it up with a YX140 engine, cammed up, and some trick bolt-ons.

The second one was a brand new frame, powdercoated, and built up with a YX160 engine, some DMR suspension and other bolt ons... this one has never even been started up, never mind ridden!

The 3rd pit bike is the only one that actually got ridden, and that was few and far between... it's an ornament too, but it's not showroom fresh.
They're all showing a small amount of age now, sitting in cold damp sheds for years doesn't do anything any favours.

Better pic of it here It's a Jancy belt grinder/linisher. 75mm wide, 2m belt, 4hp motor

It's a beast, it just munches metal. Highly reccomend.

Couple of little improvements.
Made a worktable on castors. Primarily for prepping and organising steel for batches... what a time saver!




I also got really sick of not being able to move pallets around, so bought a second hand pallet truck. Should have had one years ago!



And lastly, lil pic of brother doing his finest with the Miller. We're extending the mezzanine storage, and made a start on steelwork.

Not sure what he's doing mind, usually it's less spattery than it looks in the photo!

Finally finished stainless legs for now!

We made a good start on the extra-mezz yesterday. Plan is to board this out, transfer the junk across from the right hand side shelf, so we can take it down and put the second and third bays up.

Been a slow progress on this... had far too many other jobs on... anyway yesterday we finally finished the mezzanine extension and handrails! Just the centre bay gate to finish off.
The compressor has a service exchange screw unit to fit (and the system to clean out and see why the last one ate some metal!) and it will be fitted in that top far corner. The rest of it is simply storage space.



Please excuse my phone camera. I had the rear camera glass changed last year and ever since, it picks up glare from every light source.

A few more changes over the last couple of years... Rob built his own jig table, very similar to mine with the same 20mm steel top.
One pillar drill disappeared to make room for a CNC mill.
There's a heavy T slot table and some more prep tables.
And last month the 35t press brake was replaced with am 80t 3 axis CNC brake.

Not sure what might be next.
If I get another good year in, I think the 6ftx1/4" guillotine might finally get changed for a 2.5m gilly or possibly a plasma table. But I keep looking lustfully at a Seigmund tool steel table as well...
