Today the first job was to fit my new Exup cable retainer, then I removed the original sprocket, cleaned up the nuts and associated bits n pieces and fitted my new Renthal rear sprocket and stainless adjusters. Most pleasing.
Next job was to remove the clutch housing and swill any mayo from inside. No pics of that and I have to wait for my new gasket which should be here tomorrow or Monday.
Next for my attention was to reconnect the carbs, so that's another job out of the way.
Next I split every electrical connectors and packed them with Corrosion Block dielectric grease to stop them furring up (some were already green) and it seems that for every step forward one has to go back a little. I found the stator cable plug looking a little worse for wearso I have to order a new pair and fit them.
While splitting connectors I found a few remains of a previously installed alarm with jumper links so I maintained them a little with some heat shrink to save me suffering later down the line.
Lastly when removing the coils I managed to snap off the screw in the end of one plug cap so I took that as the impetus I needed to carry out the stick coil upgrade. Coils are on order along with Denso LX38 coil on plug connectors.
Clicky
....so I made a start on the conversion by cutting off the crimps and fitting 4 way Tyco Amp Superseal plugs.

Still to do the other side yet. Easy enough to convert back by purchasing a second plug and making a mini loom for the original coils.
