I'm just thinking how many restaurants are tiny with everyone squeezed in, let alone bars....

If you reduce your places by two thirds, that's not going to work financially, you can't wear a mask whilst eating..

Would make a right mess.

I'd like to show my support for my local restos, but seeing the carnival of PPE at work, how's this going to work?

I feel for these folks, but not convinced it's a responsible thing to do.

The buffets, will be a thing of the past, imagine, let's all touch the same stuff...

I’ve been learning (trying) Spanish with Dualingo, it’s quite good & free on line. They do French as well. My wife is pretty good in French, so I rely on her when travelling, my French is appalling.

At best I spoke school boy Spanish ...

I had a motorcycle accident in spain and bust my shin bones in 3 places ...

.... I came out of the hospital not fluent by any means .... but more than able to hold a convo and say "I dont like this !" Over the food in the hospital.

Stopped off in Spain on a trip up here a while back. Looked for the usual mass of trucks and joined in. Must have been 400 in there, not a lot of choice, but it was very good and the truckies were downing the vinho tinto and brandies before setting off again Wonder what it is like now...
Our locals are more 'refined' than that, but one is good value. Hope they are still functional.While still in lockdown, but under the rools, I fitted a dungeon gate in a cellar in Rochefort (Missy Whiplash was delightfull, looked about 15). It was market day. About half were wearing masks, most were being a bit careful about distance, but not to 2 mtres, more a bit of dodging.
We await the the summer rush and, the probable spike in cases. We are keeping as far away from things a we can, but I still need to see clients.

Bit of fun on friday. Friend's boat has been stuck up the coast since shutdown. So we are sailing her back then. Weather looks mostly OK, wind behind us and prob do it in a long day. Kick off is 05.00.

Work being the rental boat business, how is that going? Friends are off for a break in Biscarross. Stay in a cabin, bring their own bed things. Keeping away not to difficult, restos open as above.

I’m doing some railings for a gite this week, owner says she’s turning people away, apparently lots of city dwellers desperate for a break in the country.

Don’t know how she’s got away without railings for so long, french windows opening out onto a 3m drop to the terrace below! Only spurred into doing something as two people complained their dogs had launched themselves out of the door...

We went to the supermarché this morning when they opened, very busy but they had an IT meltdown and none of the tills were working - queued for 45 minutes until they got them going, in the meantime they stopped anyone else coming in, they were queuing around the car park, just like last time...
