It was tandem lift with a craneSorry! I thought this might apply - just a matter of 20% overloaded? Or was that a larger forklift?

Imagine scraping in the ways on that thing.
Obviously as you know a lot you’d also know a large load needs double required capacity at least because load centres are being exceeded.Sorry! I thought this might apply - just a matter of 20% overloaded? Or was that a larger forklift?

You weren't meant to lift the crane as wellIt was tandem lift with a crane

Congratulations, you beat @gaz1 to that....
Talking to an old crane operator he said all the feel has gone out of the job with modern cranes and in some ways made them more dangerous!

Might be just better to keep those 'pucker moments' to yourself if they happen. Then people don't have a point of view to put forward about them.

Any loads involving lift and move require a puckerLets all calm down here Pressbrake works on his own so it's not like he put anyone else at risk even if he was pushing the boundaries. It's safely on the floor so no harm done.

Very true. Even moving my little 1500kg lathe you have to be careful. Always a relief when the job is done.Any loads involving lift and move require a pucker
Even if I was using a 50ton jmg forklift I’d be fully aware and on edge to act quickly

And so the forum descends into a bunch of HSE investigators throwing accusations around again. Clives been moving machines for most of his life and his forklift weighs more than a packed out London bus.
I think it's safe to say when someone is spending £££££s of their own money on seriously large kit they know what they are doing.
you should know that by now. a simple task with the right gear and 80 posts later on the do s and donts by folk who have never shifted owt in there lives

Thanks LaurieClive had, I believe, some help with the ££££s. But all credit to him for pulling it off. I doubt there's anyone else on here who could have achieved it. The seller did not make it easy. I think Clive may now have to sell a lot of English Wheels, Vices, Anvils, etc. He's going to be a busy boy!
@pressbrake1 how long to get properly up and running?
Laurie
