I just googled it and found that in america they have saws like ours (which they call sidewinders) and saws with the motor facing forwards powered through a worm gearbox (they call them worm drivesMotor rotation would need to be reversed.

) but with these, the blade is on the other side and is much easier to see the cut line apparently but in my (very short) searches, they don't exist in the UK

,Unlike Ni/Cad you get no warning at all and then all of a sudden they fall off the cliff and are as flat as a witches t*t...with the Cads they start reducing in power and give you a warning.
