Champhering bits finally arrived
So I've had to test them
As well as View attachment 514188cheap Chinese M5 Helicoil set bought because @Kram said that they work fine even if not brand name.
Those were 7 euro only so I've ordered and tested.

And so far he wasn't wrong about.
I've used them on my Stihl cylinder because the muffler kept to loosen up by itself.
The tap is a bit weird feeling but it works at least on aluminum.
The drill bit too it's kinda weird feeling (remember I'm a machinist I might feel better those difference than normal people).
It cuts but feels pretty rigid, it will not allow mistakes for sure, it'll snap for sure.
The inserts worked fine, the tail snapped easily as supposed to, they wound fine, but I've sensed the friction while tightening them up.
Tried both my usual technic and the advised one by Kram and honestly they both work the same.
I think it's just another example of "there are many good ways to do the same thing"
The champhering bits feel a little dull but might be an advantage
Blimey, that's a big lump !Today i have been mostly finding a nice stick of machinable plastic/nylon/hard delrin type stuff..![]()

Maybe cause I'm used to high end bitsI've not had any problem with mine. I have two sets. I've dedicated one set to wood & the other to metal.
I will definitely be bearing this in mind when fixing mineplus a perfect height for pizzin![]()

...buried this under the food to get to the tills before the dragon saw it, already have 3 batterys so bare body only and what a great grinder it is, easy switch and does not stall under load with those silly overload cut outs some cheap end have. Ideal to throw in the truck for them get out of a pickle jobs.
