Birthday gifts from my friends who bought me the size 5 Thor Hammer last year:

A very tiny watchmaker's hammer, and a turnscrew that could easily be mistaken for a Roman broadsword.

They seem to take delight in buying me ridiculous tools and then later getting a message when I inevitably do find an entirely sensible use for them.

I like the eye in the turnscrew for putting a Tommy bar in, that's actually pretty useful with big slotted screws, of which there are a great many to remove on the Landrover floor when I do the cills.

The London screwdriver is best turned using an adjustable spanner high up by the handle . That's the only one I've ever seen with the banjo hole in the middle .

The eye-hole is drifted in and tidied up by hand forging, which makes me think that it was a custom modification by the owner, likely in either an agricultural or railway environment.

You would have thought so, when I spoke to the duty manager and explained, he said the cctv did not extend out to where I was parked, its a big car park.. he even let slip that half the cams closer in did not work and the recording was shieet

He is right if they are the original cameras, back in the day I used air snare to capture the WiFi passwords and usually had a poke around before piggy backing off their connection, If there was one WiFi Camera and it just needed to be one I was in the CCTV system but the resolution was usually pants.

Just got to find the person(s) with the silly money . . .

This is the trick with most things, the scenario is usually I get to them after they have been well and truly raped so reluctant to part with any more.

Today I acquired the Freedom of Fridays.
Last week I worked my very last Friday before retirement.

So for a lazy day I changed a Series Land Rover's gearbox.


If this is what retirement is going to be like, I should have done it 45 years ago !

An extra day off is lovely. Makes a difference to your week. I dropped to a 4½ day week a couple of month or so ago, & that extra day off is welcomed.
