Tbh, many here "can" but don't.

We all fall into the trap of being spoilt by cheap energy. Let's face it by and large we can still all afford energy, pay our bills and eat. Thinking of what's going on elsewhere...

Take me, guilty as charged, I built a solar water heater, 4' square to my own design. Received high praise on one of the US solar forums. It was a bit of a laugh using all scrap materials. Achieved some incredible temperature. Had a few hot car washes and al fresco showers.

Meant to scale it up, didn't etc. Even had the chance recently of decent scrap material to make another but was too lazy to grab it.

If I had I'd have used a lot less oil!

Well that's wierd. Yesterday I finally managed to get a gas delivery booked for 27th March, the earliest they can manage.

I get up today 09:00 and find a delivery docket in the letterbox, Flogas came in the wee hours of the morning and filled my tank.

Last year I paid £463 for 1100 litres, 42p per l.

I've not been billed for today's drop of 690 litres yet.

I ordered 500l of kero28 on Monday 28th Feb for £73.8ppl, which was high then but I knew would inevitably go up.
Glad I did after reading this thread on prices since... Crazy price at the moment for it!

I think they will, significantly, I said as much earlier in this thread. But not back to the low demand lockdown era. I don't think it'll be immediate though. There's a supply issue at pumps and tanks as people panicked about rising costs are trying to fill up. But they're not using it any faster.

Reorganization supply away from Russia towards the middle East will take time - a few weeks?

Why don't you think oil prices will fall?

If the petrol price goes up by 10p, you are lucky to ever see it go down by 1p when the crude price drops. Shell and Bp are the masters of profiteering.

You have to remember oil comming out of the well today, takes about 8 weeks to get to the pumps, espescially if coming by sea from the middle east.
on that trip the cargo based on the bill of lading may be bought and sold many times over depending whats happening in the markets

Let's not forget Russia will undoubtedly ferment unrest in those countries where alternative oil supplies come from. As sure as night follows day.

You also have to remember that oil is traded on the futures market. What’s trading today hasn’t even been dug out the ground. So, seeing that’s the case why does the fuel price go up in price immediately,but never down immediately? Answer….PROFITEERING

I’m lucky that where I shop there are 2 fuel selling supermarkets a few hundred metres apart, so fuel prices are very competitive, yesterday was £1.53.9 for diesel, BP was £1.74.9, if ever I need to buy anything from a BP I get a similar feeling to having a tooth pulled out.

Toolstation and Screwfix normally good price, good stocks normally as well, but none in either in the Southwest.
Called in many garages and none in stock.

Luckily found a rural fuel station with 4x10 litre drums left, so bought a couple as my van can take 20 litres to fill, and only had 135 miles left with what I had!

Pretty sure the biggest producer of AdBlue is China .. there were shortages a while ago . And China don’t even really use it like the rest of the world .
