I hope you didn't scratch the paint
Twice, unrelated to turning. First time was butterfingers dropping a block of brass between the bedways. Second was when the power hacksaw castors decided to do a Colin McRae style turn and I grazed the edge of the chip tray.

Who’s Brad?
Someone called me Channd the other day when taking down my name for a Covid sign in. That’s a new one, an impressive deviation. Beats the guy who thought I was Chard, abbreviated Richard, not the green vegetable.
It is good though, and I have started charging people to repair things, I’m currently doing a vice handle which was missing an end, good fun.
I really need to set up the VFD as I’m running off 230vac atm which runs the motor but it’s lacking torque.
Can't recommend highly enough the carbide insert tooling on Banggood. @doubleboost reviewed them on his youtube channel & that convinced be to buy some for my ML7. They transformed my turning, no faffing about sharpening HSS, stick in a new insert & away you go.

Did you ever put oil in either the gearbox or headstock? If you did i'm curious how much each took

Not yet. I seem to recall a 4l bottle was sufficient though.

Make sure you get the right holder shank size so that the tool's on centre.

These top hats were heavily scored from grease not oil being pumped into the rollers. They now have the correct oil and seals in them.

, I have just started my own Bantam Mk 1 restoration and have a puzzle to solve, which I am sure you will understand , having taken these parts to pieces.
The wormdrive pinion (A in photo) in the back of the apron should be driven by the spline shaft (B in photo) , I thought there would be a key that followed the spline , but I cannot see anything , and the inside is smooth so how do they lock together to rotate ? my brain is about to explode
