It's missing the blade and needs a new lead but I think it was ok before they cut it off. Schools seem to throw away good gear and buy new (or not at all) rather than move it into a new site.

Hope and despair.

A delivery of bits and pieces was dropped off at work but not for us. It was for a school local to me as it happens. Took it to the school as its not far to go and turns out its for the tech department. Get talking to the only technician there (School hols here) about metal work etc. this is where I despaired. Two years ago they scrapped 6 lathes!!!!!!!!!!

Just wheeled them into a dropside skip and got rid :mad:

. But I have hope as well as in the next while they are having a new tech department built and the sole remaining lathe is marked for scrap at the same time, I hope to rescue it from a trip to the scrappies. There is also likely to be other bits and pieces at the same time. Fingers crossed :whistle:

If schools are just going to scrap stuff like that they should give them to the PTA to eBay/sell. At least the funds made will be put to good use.
Did this with a few brands worth of pool heater last year. They wanted me to scrap it

I found myself a nice little selection of Noga deburring tools and one Shaviv.
No more deburring with a 40g flap disc for me. :clapping:

Something small but useful; dinse adapter so i can use my standard 35/50 earth leads in my plasma cutter.

And a welding cap. There were lots of options out there.. but i went for the naked ladies. Obviously.

This has now been resolved, a sad, sad end.
The police were involved, when it was found out that 2 houses were being targeted. Bother in laws house who had under 5. Plus Mini Me.

John has been traced and is waiting a medical report in a special hospital.

A sad end to a concerning few days.

Today I acquired.
Another power hacksaw. This is identical to my big Manchester. But this is badged allen west. She is bigger than my Manchester. Also I acquired the biggest radial drill I have ever seen. Complete with all the original motor. Gearbox. Its massive.
