They were a full on privateer gp bike, so doubtful!!
CB250 RS maybe?
You not getting my motorcycle use - it is more plodding to work/top box/open faced helmet - than "ghost rider" on one wheel.

You’d be lucky to get 500 miles out of a “proper” RS250 engine between rebuilds, I wouldn’t want to commute on oneYou not getting my motorcycle use - it is more plodding to work/top box/open faced helmet - than "ghost rider" on one wheel.

Not the most efficient thing but man it was antisocial and a load of fun
Brother in law had a 250RS for a work bike, he made a top box for it which we called the coffin. It was a bit big![]()

This granny has ridden past big sports Kawasakis on a C90 with screen and top box through Laurel Bank and they never caught up till near Kirkmichael. Pussies. If you ride like a granny!
I bought a CG125 nostalgia a few years back to zip in and out of town once a week.
Because everything round here is NSL I had to give it maximum beans to not be in everyone's way. Best I got was 74 mpg.
about a stone heavier. ps that's 60 years ago since i was 16
No... 1984 CB250RSa. (I used the RS in the wrong format)
Only two stroke I have ever owned/used was a black Kawasaki AR80. Freebee - someone gave it to me as MOT failure. Got it thru test - duct taped seat up and used it for a year.
I had an ar50 bloody brilliant at 16. Derestricted so still slow
AR80 I got for nothing - was fitted with noisey expansion chamber. 10hp six speed - 65mph
Smell of castrol R.... Mixed direct in the tank!
My boyhood wet dream that!!!
What do you expect if you ride the wrong way down the road? This granny has ridden past big sports Kawasakis on a C90 with screen and top box through Laurel Bank and they never caught up till near Kirkmichael. Pussies.

Maybe the reliant robin will make a come back
I did my cbt one weekend In college as I was bored. Was frozen and soaked by the end of it but enjoyed it none the less, always meant to go back but never got the chance. Think it maybe time to get my skates on and go do my direct access test like I promised myself I would do when I was 24. Didn’t as the ex opposed bikes like nobody’s business even tried to blag I needed one for using the quad on the local farm but had none of it may go do the intensive course now I’m free.
Went to the little riding school In Southampton under the bridge don’t know if it’s still there.

When you say test everyone I assume you also include car/van etc drivers in that.Don't start me - you need a CBT every 2 years, or pass your test, wahat a pallaver, sorry I think it's nonsense. If you want to cut road deaths the way forward is retest everyone every 5 years, not just people on learner bikes.
It would cause uproar, but believe me, it would work.
Perhaps Twiggy could make a comeback. If she is still with us.Maybe that's where the noticeable change will come, more scooters?
When you think about it they're designed to be exactly the answer to cheap commuting with the ability to carry enough gear for most commutes. Two up isn't an issue, quick enough away to make it fun, cheap to tax and insure, very economical, easy to ride, not as off putting as a sports bike for someone who's not into bikes, and not as 'old fashioned' as a UJM style commuter.
I guess like anything else, all it needs is for some celebrity or popular non-entity to be seen using one and they'll be everywhere.![]()
Can you buy it by the thimble full?Been out today for a run and saw fuel at £171.99 a litre
