It works amazingly well, really clean straight cuts, way better than I can manage by hand. The guide rail is off of banggood and I used the holder off a circle cutting guide to hold the torch. Next stage is to get an acme thread lead screw and fit a 12v motor and speed controller. Then I can do some test cuts and make note of the speeds that work best for particular material/thicknesses.
I would like to build a cnc plasma table in the future

  9. Lovely work on the exhaust. I’d love for someone to do me one in Stainless for my 525D. I want to smash through the DPF and stick in a small resonator box to take off the edge.

I'd make up a pipe and take the whole dpf off instead of knocking it out. Get good money for dpfs for scrap

Don't they have to be present for the MOT, if they were fitted to the vehicle at manufacture? :dontknow:

I understand that's why some gut them and leave the empty 'shell'.

Yeah they do have to be present for the test. Most of the ones I remove are for people looking for performance and noise. They sound better with a pipe instead of a hollowed out one.

  14. Yeah, the MOT is my concern, been told by my tester that if I were to do anything then try to make it look like it’s still present and working, hence gutting the cat.

If there is no catalyst in the cat wont it affect the NOx readings?

  16. There’s problem is on the Bee em there is a pressure reading taken so the Ecu can work out if it requires a regen or some such eco crap. May have to get it mapped out.

I’ve no idea at all. My brothers on my case to get mine done. Haven’t got the balls just yet. Plus don’t need any more temptation for another year

  19. I like the idea of even more torque and also thinking of doing the egr and egr cooler delete and swirl flap removal. Apparently the chain isn’t a big deal on these M57 engines.
Someone on e60 forum reported 205bhp and 480nm of torque with no other mods.
