Fallasy the same pressure required for clamp type, think about it nothiongs perfect so induces same loads.

I tried out this very cheap Aldi tap and die set today, I've had it for years but only ever used it for chasing out damaged threads so was sceptical that it would work very well.
I decided to try the M10 tap and die first. It took a fair amount of force to cut the thread.
That's not the case, the sideways force vector will be much lower on the clamp type, even when wheels are not perfectly opposite.
