The best thing you could do to a Datatool alarm is cut ALL of the wires. I've had to personally remove three failed ones from different bikes.

I've yet to take off a failed alarm, I have however taken off a few that were fried by **** poor installs. High resistance connections being the main culprit where they've been installed with insulated terminals from the local market, bodge locks, and solder gobbed on.

Versus I've had 3 bikes fitted with Datatool alarms and the only problem I had was when the sounder failed on the oldest.
I believe Datatool saved my garage contents one night as I used to park my bike very close to the doors and when someone forced the doors they must have bumped the bike as they climbed through the gap so the very loud sounder would be right next to their ears.

One of mine would work if you twisted the board slightly (with it removed obviously). I had called Datatool and they said that it as toast and sometimes the fluid leaks out of the nudge sensor too. Spares weren't available in 2017 they sure as heck won't be any now.

Had two fail personally and I've had to resuce a mate when one packed up whilst he was riding.

If you're stranded with a failed system 3 find some tools to rip the lid off. Un-plug the big connector then join the wires on terminals 1&2, then 5&6 on the little one. That'll get you going.

Getting rid of a load of 48 year old stuff to be replaced with more up to date gear with the custom loom.

De-pinning the old TCI connector blocks so that they can be remade with new terminals.

I guess that explains why I couldn't find the pick up coil connector.

Don't see many of these around now, Bridgestone 175 with rotary or rocker gear selection, twin disc valves etc. Pretty advanced in their day.

Did you find somewhere to squeeze the earth rail in?.

He's bringing the seat and tank over on Monday so that I can see what the space is like. I suspect it will either need the coils moving elsewhere or another box fitted behind the battery box as there's quite a bit to wedge in and with things like the coils & reg/rec generating heat and interference I don't want it all rammed together.
