Quite the lump in these things isn't it? 8.4 litres, 600 bhp, 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, insured for the thick end of £80k, but it amuses me no end that it's not the quickest thing in the workshop. That's physics for you.

Finally able to get back onto this 3TA which belonged to the customer's father and he wants it back on the road in good usable condition.
The customer's been waiting ages, a combination of difficulty getting bits, and then other jobs leap frogging it. The supply chain for old Brit bike spares is very hit and miss in recent times. I guess because of tarrifs as it seems people are waiting for orders to reach a container load before they're placed rather than posting odd bits and bobs.

That's the sort of stuff I've got to preserve/work around. It was his father's bike who made many mods, bodges and keep it going repairs. So for sentimental reasons he wants all that kept as it is.
So it's a carb clean, sort out the ignition side of things (keeping the points), fit a new loom as I told him that was the only way I'd sort the electrics (bodged beyond redemption) reline the shoes, I've skimmed the front drum (7" twin leading), wheel bearings, head bearings, service the forks, hubs relaced with stainless spokes and rims. Basically get it road worthy keeping as much of his dad's work as possible.
