I've put up a few bench tops, I've stopped now because every time I do it, someone - probably me, as there's only me in there - comes along and dumps a load of stuff on it.

Best not to mention the other two Peugeot Boxers that are still at the dealer waiting on new engines.
Or the two that got scrapped due to engine failure.
I mean it's only an over 10% failure rate in the 6 months I've been here, and Peugeot are saying there are no major issues with their engines, yet the dealer we're using have done over 80 this year
At least each one keeps me busy and away from inspections for a couple days.

I did know of a Luego Viento ( a bigger 7 type car) that was fitted with a Viper lump that was later taken out and fitted to a 3 door Ford Sierra . There is some info on it on locostbuildersWould the owner miss the engine?, you could build one of these

Got those Three working again
All of them had the same fault.
Broken switch mechanism avoiding it to close the contacts.
Solved removing the faulty contact and hardwiring the contacts.
The other pole obviously works fine, essentially the spring loaded plunger came out locking up the switch
Main problem was to get at the switch as I have had to remove at least 25 screw just to get there, removing the gearbox and armature during the process to reach to the switch.
Still have one to check but I'll see it on tomorrow hopefully.
Honestly they are waiting since July to get them repair they may wait another week or two ....
Most important thing is that the tools I've used are all in their designated spot.
And not lying on the bench.

When I need some extra space, I clamp a 2"x 4" with a piece of plywood attached, and clamp it in one of my vices. If I want to use an area on one of my benches, I can move stuff in the way and put it on the temporary plywood surface. I’ve recently managed to handled one on to my Triumph Vitesse - which was quite a heavy lump.
You'd better not do the Vauxhall/Opel cam in head 6 pot then. That's the heaviest car cylinder head I've ever had to lift .
I'm still wearing the truss to prove it.......
