The 2A is a short sole one.
Both are very nice.
Its a Manx Moot point but you would have to have a Turnip head to call those swedes.
@Blobber Make him some sprout wine ...![]()
If I've told you once , I've told you twice , " Lay off the Scottish cooking whiskies they addle your brain & rot ones guts".
Those round orangy purple topped veg in the box are usually called Swedes in England but might be known to you in Scotland as Swedish turnips rather than the white purple top turnip , the yanks apparently call both types Rutabaga's for some strange reason . Though apparently due to being lazy, above the border strange speaking people call" turnips" neeps instead .
Lovely little lathe I have it's British / American great great grandaddy ( circa 1943) called Sphere.Busy time of year when people are clearing out their sheds and garages making room for other things. Just picked up this Atlas 10100 lathe someone wanted gone at once

In the Isle of Man (where my family comes from) a Turnip is called a Moot and at Hop Tu Naa (Halloween to you) lanterns are carved from them.If I've told you once , I've told you twice , " Lay off the Scottish cooking whiskies they addle your brain & rot ones guts".
Good sprout wine is a tad too dry for me and depending on the strain of sprout used some have a tendency to produce real stinky sulphurated hydrogen farts.
PS.
