I think the jury is out on that comment for mine is 28 yrs old and not been used for the last 25 years . They are still on sale here in the UK if they were not viable , surely trading standards would have stopped their sale and a TV programme about people being conned into buying them been made .by now.

Screwfix & Plumbsure currently sell them too , I think they would be sued left right & centre if they were totally useless .

Wife’s accqiured 3 of these beautifully made Austrian cine film projectors,c/w film of her childhood,they were her father’s,we can’t make them operate,unless I manually rotate the control knob,this gives the impression of still images,I’ve no clue what to do other than check the drive belt,which is in good condition and smooth,not perished. The internals are very clean and damp free. Any ideas anyone? Thanks.

Broquet Catalyst pellets in a stainless steel enclosure ( ?) from the stable of David Locke . We had them in all of our cars since 1987 " Three car family ) till I got an electric car in 2015 .

In 1993 I took the head off one of the early Citroen BX leaders which I got cheap , where the head had warped due to a leaky rad hose .
Checked the block , got the head skimmed and put back together , added a mesh tube of Boquete to the fuel tank on a nylon cord ( for retrieval ) 12k miles later I took the plugs out and they were as clean as a whistle , no evidence of any gunge on the piston top either & the exhaust tail pipe a lovely light chocolate brown colour .

Today I acquired a full ML8 Myford wood working lathe with a fair number of accessories for free. Was totally gobsmacked after the guy delivered it saying, he wanted it out the way he is clearing a well established furniture repairing shop as the space is needed for a new venture ASAP.

Checked the second hand value as a silver one in absolutely pristine condition . I am a very very happy lucky boy indeed ,told there is more to come

I bought a laptop! I've been avoiding computers for much of the last 5 years, doing near everything I needed on my phone or tablet. It was nice not having to use Windows, the constant need to do updates at the most irritating times, etc.. been setting it up the last few hours and I've never swore so much! ( At windows, the laptop is good)

I bought an Acer Aspire 15, I'm told its a very decent spec for the price, and with the offer they appear to be selling quite fast so I drove to the nearest curries with stock to collect it.

Decided to replace it with something a little more up to date for evening entertainment...


Haven't had the Eumig apart for years but the film feed is quite complex if I remember correctly, make sure you have enough slack per the feed route diagram on the side.

If it's not been used for years you may find that the drive belt has melted. That really is a messy, convoluted job to repair.

But that's pretty much the same as my 91 Lancia.

Nothing in the tank other than the pump and fuel hoses, and of course fuel (and condensation) - plugs look good, exhaust looks good. Thinking about it - true of every car I change the plugs on, which at the moment is four - the other four are either new to me, or not used enough.

Start with the basics then & replace the belt. It sounds as if all the mechanism(s) are freely moving?

I bought an alleged "4 pack" of the 6T trolleys from Temu and it turns out that a "4 pack" only actually comprises one trolley, silly me. This also happened with a different supplier too. Bought one more from another supplier, plus a 15T one for good measure. Before you ask, at the time Vevor didn't offer any, so realistically it had to be Temu or Aliexpress. Moving the lathe (about 3 tonnes) was hardly a breeze and I'm not looking forward to shifting the 4t mill. The PU rollers actually made it more difficult to move, not easier - trying to turn a load of heavily loaded, sticky PU wheels on the spot isn't easy and the rollers are quite lossy. I'd call that a waste of my money. I'm guessing if I'm going to get myself some "proper" skates, it won't be from you.

Vevor has offered them since early 22 and temu launched in the UK early 23 so you probably could have gotten them and they have a decent review by people on this forum plus you only turn them when actually moving they're not designed to turn when stationary. https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/vevor-machine-skates.119650/

It was only a suggestion since they're much cheaper than the caterpillar style ones I will be selling and would save you on postage since the lot is like +30kg, you didn't have to be snarky about it.
