I bought a Kamasa socket set from a market stall about 40 years ago and I'm still using it, and I can't remember ever breaking any of it. And a lot of the time it was in use every day earning my living.

Yep, did something similar aged 18 ish. The ratchets broke early on, but they weren't actually Kamasa. I bought a new Kamasa ratchet from elsewhere, which is still going strong.

I've worn a couple of sockets badly, split one that I had turned down to fit the Lancia crank bolt recess, and another trying to undo the stat housing on a Metro. Not bad for the cost I reckon.

Kamasa were always a good one of the 'imported' stuff, I first had some of their kit would've been back in the 80s, all still in use and can't recall ever breaking anything by them.

Where I worked back in the early ‘70s, we sold Kamasa tools, it was just after they started importing from what I recall. In those days it had an unconditional guarantee & they stood by it. I’ve still got bits & pieces now, it was good stuff. I scrounged off the rep a set of 3 aviation snips, they were a revelation, after knackered Gilbows, still got them now, still good.

My Kamasa socket set is over 30 years old. I don't regret buying it.

I've got the odd Kamasa bit, still good after 40-odd years.
Lost a couple of bits to thieves, of course.
I don't think modern Kamasa is quite as good as it used to be, though. Like most other makes they've gone down in quality in the race to the bottom. From what I gather from those using modern Kamasa, it's OK, not actually rubbish.

Another make I came across is King Tony, Taiwanese. Had a couple of heavy duty 3/4" sockets from them, couldn't break them.

Does seem to be the way of things...I really wanted a new Halfords professional set but I do t know if it's going to be like the one I have so not taking the risk!
