I have a complete Meister (powerfix) combination spanners set
A Beta art.42 set
But I've just bought this GEDORE one because it was a offered at fairly good price and because it's an heavy design with the box end parallel to the handle which comes in handy many times especially on Mercedes stuff
Anyways got it for a roughly 100 euro and it's a complete set 6 to 22mm then 24-25-26-27-28-30-32mm

Today, I acquired an Amazon.ie Prime account, as a straight swop for my .uk one.
I was aware Az had opened a regional warehouse in Ireland, as some recent purchases had got here the day after ordering, so it came as no great surprise.
On scanning what's available to me now, I'm surprised to find a load of German stuff with free postage, which is good.
I can still order from Amazon UK and DE direct if I want, but postage kicks in, of course.

Lidl currently have BT ear defenders for 30 quid, the spec looks acceptable. Any good? I got one to try.
If anyone has used similar for arb/forrestry, is there a phone app needed for comms or is this incompatable with the other sorts? Somone was telling me he uses a motorcycle BT thing when he is climbing.

She who makes lumpy custard (has been complaining about 'How big phones are, and they don't fit in her pocket')

Then today we got this little lot...
New Poultry Sheers, last lot return spring broke, let's see how this one does.
'Industrial Staple' remover.
100ml syringes, and 5 blunt needles, for small hole filling and jacks!
Can't find mine anywhere. Spark Plug spanner for loose fitting spark plugs.
Small Whipper-Uppers for resin and small paint mixes. Includes extension rods.
'Diamond' encrusted knife steel. Seems to be working on the ones knife sharpened and used tonight.
We'll see.
This is a Mini-Auger for making planting holes in soil.
Apparently, the garden is not where you take your power tools!
If I catch her using it, there'll be a video!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still adding to my pile of antique and vintage 'old-tech' stuff. Here's one of my nautical acquisitions from last weekend: A small Perko cowl vent, mounted on what might be its original mahogany Dorade box. It's in pretty good shape. The cowl/scoop has a few small dings that could stand to be smoothed out, but no holes or cracks, and it rotates easily in the bronze deck plate. If anyone wants to know how a Dorade box works, here's a Wikipedia link.
I also added to my growing stable of hand tools for electrical wiring: A Knipex wire stripper. I like this style because it's good for getting into tight spaces.
And yet another crimping tool. I got this one because I have a number of non-insulated terminals to install on AWG 6 stranded wire, and my existing crimpers for didn't go quite that large.

Two annoying things, apart from the cost
The first item I didn't need (£22.50)
The spring that I ordered was the wrong one
I now need to persuade Tapmatic to swap the spring and give me a refund (no doubt a part-refund) on the washer,
and in addition pay postage both ways...

If it's the stainless one then it's a good one. I haven't broken mine yet. I've yet to find a stainless version of the pirate shovel, and my steel one is worn and on the point of breaking

The Irish navvys have been using them for years and you guys still haven't gotten on to them!
