Today my depth micrometre came back, it's been off to the health spa at Mitutoyo. Although not cheap, what is nowadays, the service you get from that company is just fantastic. cost me a hundred and fifty quid to bring a broken £40 measuring tool upo to calibrated as new spec. I call that a result, a new one is fortunes and it is a tool I use a lot:

How do the fire glow compare with other brands, including Zip? Looking on Amazon just to get an idea of prices, they look like they may be a bit cheaper than the zip ones we normally buy from Tesco.

Never had zip,I couldn’t reliably comment on comparisons.

No, the previous owner had dropped it, more than once I think and the thimble was binding, they have replaced the whole mechanism by the looks. Smooth as silk now. It was giving an error too, but I cannot remember what it was. Not important now as it is as good as new.

I have all deWalt but because they are getting heavy I have started with the 12volt Milwaukee stuff, even my missus stole some of it, just right for her, or so she says.

I can’t knock the M12 kit, plenty of power and compact. The High Output batteries are definitely worth investing in.
Not sure what your usage is but recommend the soldering iron, die grinders and rotary tool as you already have the stubby torque gun. Next on my list is the M12 planer.

Milwaukee packs of staples. Don't think they're that dear from what I remember, not as cheap as loose in bulk but not that much more.

If it's as good as the Bosch version, a worthwhile spend. They're so light a compact that they're a pleasure to use.
